Aïda Adilbekova

Born 1994, Almaty

Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from the T. K. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts in Almaty (2016). Amongst other initiatives, Adilbekova has participated as an artist in two editions of the contemporary art festival ARTBAT FEST in Almaty (2016, 2017) and curated the contemporary art branch of the Festival of Contemporary Art, Architecture, Design and Theater “Astana Art Fest” in Astana.

Adilbekova views art as a form of education as well as exploration of the external reality and the inner self through addressing uncomfortable questions and confronting one’s fears. Fascinated by performance, she treats this medium in terms of experimentation with time, space and oneself.
