The artist represents the young generation of Chinese performance art. His artistic actions are static, based on reduced, simple gestures, often without the use of any props. He creates situations open to the interactions with others and, because of their ambiguity, leaving much room for interpretation. In one of his performances, the artist was standing motionless with his arm stretched in the welcome gesture for 24 hours. This performance was repeated in Tienanmen Square, where it acquired a completely new meaning.
