Darja Lukjanenko

Born 1994, Dniepr

Lukianenko studied journalism at Oles Honchar Dnipro National University between 2012 and 2016; she is currently pursuing a diploma in photography at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design (UMPRUM) in Prague. She was the founder and editor-in-chief of the experimental online magazine SONNAR and a co-founder of the underground photographic project “Zasvet”.

Active as a photographer, Lukianenko’s work explores the paradoxical nature of the medium that captures time and place and interacts with real objects, thus producing images that are dead and alive at the same time. The artist sets herself as the protagonist of her photographs.
