Galya Gurova

Born Dniepr

Student of the Faculty of Journalism at the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University. In 2015 and 2016, Gurova was active in the Ukrainian Theatre “Taktichniy”. Founder of the Art Studio “Dzyga” devoted to performance art (2017). She also took part in the workshop “Closing In / Approaching” organised by Theaterlabor Bielefeld in Dnipro in 2017.

Gurova’s performative practice emerges from her emotional engagement with the contemporary world and sensitivity to the omnipresent violence, aggression, sexism, racism and xenophobia. She sees her work as a way to cope with evil that her surroundings compel her to absorb.
