Grzegorz Demczuk

Born 1992, Częstochowa

Student at the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. Participant in group exhibitions in Brno (“Far – Near”), Ukraine (Bunker Residence), Łódź (“Young Spirit”), amongst other places. He has also presented his works at an individual exhibition at Galeria Czynna in Łódź (“Condition”). In 2017, he was awarded in the Władysław Strzemiński Competition – Fine Arts.

Demczuk works in the fields of video art, performance (including performance-for-camera), photography and painting. Inspired by philosophy, Anthropocene, determinism, the phenomenon of strangeness and peculiarity. The artist writes about his practice: “In my works I often use words, repetition, tautology, my own condition, I delight in stating seemingly obvious things, I try not to offer ready answers, but rather provoke reflection and ask questions.”
